One of the most famous tombs in the Valley of the Kings is the tomb of King Tutankhamun, also known as King Tut. King Tut was only a young boy when he became king, and he ruled Egypt for only a short time before he died. Despite his short reign, his tomb is one of the most famous because it was discovered nearly intact, with many treasures still inside.

The Valley of the Queens also known as the Tombs of Queens is located in Luxor, in the hills along the western bank of the Nile River in Upper Egypt. This site is most famous because this is where the wives of pharaohs were buried in ancient times. It was formerly known as Ta-Set-Neferu, meaning “the place of beauty”.
