KV17 Seti I

The Tomb to Seti I is the longest and deepest of all the tombs in The Valley of The Kings. The Tomb of Seti I is a tomb of many firsts. It was the first to have a vaulted burial chamber, first to be decorated with religious texts.

Once you enter this tomb you will be lead down steep corridors. These corridors will lead you to a Well Chamber that you will be able to view the depth of from a bridge connecting the corridors to the first of many columned chambers.  This first columned chamber is connected by a second columned sub-chamber behind it and a staircase to the rest of the tomb onto the left. As you continue your decent into the tomb you will pass through several chambers on your way to the columned burial chamber.

The Burial Chamber to Seti I is unique in that it has several side chambers with two containing columns. There is also an additional sub-chamber that descends further into the earth. 

There is a total of seven corridors and ten chambers. You will find several different scenes from several different books to include the Litany of Ra, Book of the Dead, Book of Gates, Opening of the Mouth Ritual, and many more. This tomb has several aspects that you will not find in other tombs in The Valley of the Kings. If your plans allow for it, it is a must see.
