Details
In the morning we will have a group breakfast and a short welcoming presentation. This presentation will introduce the team members and tour guide that will be with you during the tour, go over the itinerary, provide details on what to expect on the tour, and answer any questions you may have.
After breakfast we will head off to visit the ruins of Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where you gaze up at a monumental 35-foot-tall statue of Ramses II carved from limestone. You will be guided by your Egyptologist through the open air museum. You will have some free time to explore the grounds and take additional photos, if you like
From Memphis we will head to Dahshur, home to the Bent and Red Pyramids, built for Pharaoh Snefru. These pyramids are among the oldest, largest and best preserved in Egypt. The names of these two pyramids come from their unique shape and the color of the materials that were used. You will have the option to enter each of these Pyramids to get an inside view of the inner construction. After your visit here we will go to a local restaurant for lunch.
After lunch we will stop off at a local carpet factory and shop. Here you will be able to see how the carpets are designed and made. You will be welcomed with a beverage of your choice and have the opportunity to purchase a carpet directly.
*if you plan on making a purchase we recommend you measure several locations in your house that you may want to place a carpet. This will help the staff guide you to the right size carpets.
We will then travel back to our hotel in Cairo where you will have the remaining of the afternoon to rest, lounge by the pool, or get a spa treatment in. Dinner will be a group meal later the evening.
