Located on the West Bank of the Nile River. The Valley of The Kings is the burial place for most of Egypt’s New Kingdom rulers. Cut into the bedrock there are over 64 tombs located in this region. 

Some of the tombs have been identified while others are still a mystery. 

On your tour you will have the option to pick three tombs out of the ones listed on this page to explore at your leisure. These will be in addition to the Tomb of King Tutankhamun and any optional excursions you may have elected to purchase.

KV 1 Rameses VII Tomb

This unfinished tomb still has amazing scenes. The walls have excerpts from the Book of Gates, Book of Caverns, Book of Earth, and more. 

KV6 Rameses IX

One of the smaller tombs with a slight incline to the corridors. You will pass four columns on the way to a sunken burial chamber. The painted scenes are vivid and colorful.

KV 8 Merenptah Tomb

This tomb has several scenes on the wall from the Book of Gates, Litany of Ra, Book of Caverns and many more. The sarcophagus is housed in the burial chamber which is three corridors down from the entrance. 

KV11 Rameses III

This tomb is very unique as it has several sub-chambers off of the first chamber. In the Burial Chamber there are eight columns, four sub-chambers, and three more chambers beyond it. There are several scenes to view in this vast tomb.

KV14 Tausert and Setnakht

This one of the largest tombs found to date. This tomb is cut into the cliff and there are several corridors leading you deeper into the mountain. With multiple chambers and sub-chambers there is a lot to see.

KV15 Sety II

Three long corridors lead you to the two chambers and then finally the burial chamber. The interior walls are covered in plaster to allow for a smoother surface to paint the scenes. Sety II’s Sarcophagus can be seen in the Burial Chamber.

KV16 Rameses I

This is one of the smaller tombs that are available to be seen. The slopping corridor and stairwell leads you to the sarcophagus of Rameses I . Even though this tomb is unfinished there are several scenes that are completed. You will be amazed at the vibrant and colorful depictions. 

KV47 Siptah

This unfinished tomb has gentle sloping corridors. In the chamber before the Burial Chamber you will see an abandoned side corridor. In the Burial Chamber you will see the sarcophagus of Siptah.

KV62 King Tutankhamen

The most famous of all Tombs. King Tutankhamen tomb is also one of the smallest in the Valley of The Kings. Centrally located in the Valley this tomb is easy to explore. This tomb is included with your Tour of The Valley of The Kings.

KV9 Ramses V and VI

Entrance to this Tomb is extra and is nominally priced. Tickets can be purchased on the day of our visit to The Valley of The Kings. In this tomb you will see several scenes painted onto its walls from the Book of Gates, Book of the Dead, Book of Earth, and many more.

KV17 Seti I

Entrance to this Tomb is extra and is nominally priced. Tickets can be purchased on the day of our visit to The Valley of The Kings. The Tomb to Seti I is the longest and deepest of all the tombs in The Valley of The Kings. The Tomb of Seti I is a tomb of many firsts. It was the first to have a vaulted burial chamber, first to be decorated with religious texts.
